Census Bureau is still hiring!

I just called to check, and the Census Bureau is still hiring census takers here in Douglas County. To learn more about the jobs, visit http://2010.census.gov/2010censusjobs/.

To apply, call: Phone: 770-261-1820 Act fast; we were told a couple of weeks ago that no more applications were being taken, so we don't know how long they'll continue to accept them.

Census takers start at: $16.25/hour

Census Bureau to hire 1,000 workers here

Good news: today's DC Sentinel says the Census Bureau plans to hire hundreds of temporary, part-time workers here. About 1,000-1,200 people will be hired at the Douglasville U.S. Census office, which serves Carroll, Douglas, South Fulton, Coweta and Heard Counties.

The census office will be located in the old Wal-Mart shopping center on Stewart Parkway, across the street from the post office. The jobs will reportedly run from February to June, for 20-40 hours/week. Census employees will work primarily in the evenings and on weekends, and will be paid weekly, according to the paper.

To get started in the application process, call 1-866-861-2010.
