Good news: today's DC Sentinel says the Census Bureau plans to hire hundreds of temporary, part-time workers here. About 1,000-1,200 people will be hired at the Douglasville U.S. Census office, which serves Carroll, Douglas, South Fulton, Coweta and Heard Counties.
The census office will be located in the old Wal-Mart shopping center on Stewart Parkway, across the street from the post office. The jobs will reportedly run from February to June, for 20-40 hours/week. Census employees will work primarily in the evenings and on weekends, and will be paid weekly, according to the paper.
