Position Available: Director of Communications and Community Affairs
The Douglas County Chamber of Commerce is currently seeking an energetic, dedicated, and creative individual to fulfill duties as a full-time Director of Communications and Community Affairs. This director plans and executes all Chamber communications for members and the community. In addition, this director manages programs, committees and volunteers to support the chamber and community.
A successful candidate must be detail oriented and well-organized, must have publication experience and excellent writing skills, must be able to work with multiple projects concurrently and must have strong customer service and relationship-building abilities. Also a strong marketing, communications and design background is a must. Two or more years experience is preferred.

• Chamber Matters Newsletter
• Weekly member email correspondence via Constant Contact
• Publications and Press Releases
• Ribbon Cuttings
• Website Management and Web Sponsorship Solicitation
• Experience with using Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Blog, etc.)
• www.douglasjobs.com management
• Creation of Marketing Materials for organization and its events
• Community Guide and Map
• Photography & Archiving
• Committee Facilitation and Volunteer Management
• Youth Leadership Douglas
• Foundation Scholarship Program
• Young Professionals Connection
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Proven ability to execute marketing and branding campaign
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Indesign & Photoshop
• Demonstrated accountability to meet goals by deadline and to follow-up rigorously
• Comfortable in high-performance, high-pressure environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills/writing samples required
• Required to handle multiple projects at one time with high degree of accuracy
• Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and data bases.

• Willingness to Learn
• Team Player
• Chamber of Commerce experience preferred but not required
