Our fall kick-off meeting is Monday, Sept. 19, at 6:15 pm. We'll meet at the Douglas County Library on Selman Drive, behind Douglas County High School. Bring your resume and business cards if you have them. And bring a friend!

Jobs in Fayette County

Here's a new link to check for job opportunities in Fayette County:

Also, Dave O'Farrell, who leads Jobseekers of Peachtree City, has some good thoughts to share today. He notes that many of us get down and discouraged when our job search drags on. Here's what he says in an email dated 5/14:

"...Some people have a very difficult time embracing hope when life seems hopeless; seeing the new day dawning when they are in their darkest night; expecting a great outcome when all they can see is a train wreck in their rearview mirror."

...God wants to meet you -- right where you are. If you are in a depressed state right now, remember that it is -- or it can be -- a temporary state... get the help you need to pull yourself out of the pit of despair. One good place to start is at JobSeekers of PTC on Friday morning. Don't lose heart, and don't lose hope. The LORD is close and he will save you. It starts when you turn to him and ask for help."

Then Dave quotes verse 18 from Psalm 34: "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

No matter where you are in your job search, be sure that God is close to YOU. Come to GEN, and attend other networking opportunities, if you can. We are here to pray with you and for you.

"I am the Lord your God, who holds your right hand, and I tell you, 'Don't be afraid. I will help you.'" --Isaiah 41:13
