GEN folks, here are a few tips from our meeting last night:
AT&T is said to be hiring at their location on Hwy 5 in Douglasville. Sorry, we don't have details. Check with them directly.
Someone heard that Publix on Lee Rd. in Lithia Springs may be hiring. Again, check with them.
There is a job fair coming up at a company called Fastenal. My notes are sketchy, but I believe it's on Feb. 3, from 9 am to 3 pm. Visit Fastenal.com or call them for details and location.
Please start thinking about how we can help you, so when we meet next Monday at 6:30 pm, we can discuss what we will cover in the next few weeks. We heard requests for info about LinkedIn.com, how to do a resume, etc. We can also work through a job-hunters' "bible" called What Color Is Your Parachute? It gives a lot of information about searching for a job in this computer-age. We'll talk about our options when we meet again.
Don't forget to come to the back parking lot of First Presbyterian on Feb. 14 if you want to ride in the church van or bus to the networking meeting at Roswell United Methodist. You can look them up online and see the agenda for the night. Since it's Valentine's Day, they are planning a special dinner, and you're welcome to bring your spouse.
And finally, here's a summary of the devotional Jane shared with us:
Pray for exactly what you want.
Keep a good attitude.
Let God drive the bus of your life. He knows where He's going!
