Attention: ALL Metro-Atlanta Professionals,

Join Metro-Atlanta’s finest professional business and career network at Atlanta ’s first-ever Pink Slip Mixer on Wednesday November 4th from 4 PM to 8 PM at The Event Center at Opera. Be a part of a national grassroots job networking movement that is helping professionals across the United States find jobs!

Presented by JobsDirectUSA.com and PinkSlipMixers.com the event is geared to aide local Job Seekers find jobs. The Pink Slip Mixer (also known as a "Pink Slip Party") is a job networking event that brings together Job Seekers with Recruiters in a relaxed and casual environment. This is not your typical job fair; in fact it's far from it.

The Pink Slip Mixer is an opportunity for Job Seekers to meet and network in person with Metro-Atlanta's Business and HR Leadership communities. The concept of combining a business networking mixer with the elements of a traditional job fair minus the long lines and booths is putting a new spin on the job search; and its working! Since the start of 2009 these events have literally helped thousands of Job Seekers land interviews and jobs.

The Atlanta Pink Slip Mixer will feature hiring companies from all industries in the Metro-Atlanta area plus Guest Speakers, giveaways, complimentary appetizers and a special workshop by PinkSlipMixers.com Founder and Social Media Expert Edwin Duterte on how to find a job via social networking and Twitter; you don’t want to miss it!

The Pink Slip Mixer is free and will be open to the general public. Job Seekers are encouraged to dress to impress, bring copies of their resume and be ready to network.. All hiring companies in the Greater Atlanta Area are encouraged to attend..

About JobsDirectUSA.com and PinkSlipMixers.com:

Event Organizers Carlos Gil (JobsDirectUSA.com) and Edwin Duterte (PinkSlipMixers..com) know all too well about this recession's impact on ordinary working Americans, which has led to over 7 million job losses since the end of 2007.

Gil and Duterte are both former Bankers who lost their jobs in 2008 after the economy went south. Duterte, a former Commercial Real Estate Lender for Wells Fargo and Gil ,a former Regional Sales Manager for insurance giant AIG, both became inspired by President Obama's call for volunteerism and immediately became involved in their communities after losing their own jobs.

Ironically Gil and Duterte discovered each other and their individual efforts to aide Job Seekers through Twitter back in February, forming an instant connection. Through what they credit “paying it forward” Gil and Duterte have hosted almost 100 job networking events (called "Pink Slip Mixers" or "Pink Slip Parties") combined throughout Florida and California. The free community-based grassroots events have received national and local media recognition by CNN, NBC, CBS, FOX, ABC News, The Los Angeles Times and The Miami Herald.

Over the last year alone Gil and Duterte’s events have helped over 1,000 workers land interviews and jobs. Despite national unemployment being almost at 10% Gil and Duterte’s events have fueled a viral national job movement which uses on-line networking websites such as Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook plus their own job websites and networking events to connect Job Seekers with Direct Employers and Recruiters.

Gil compares the networking mixers to “Speed dating for Job Seekers and Recruiters” while Duterte says “The Pink Slip Mixer is not only putting a new spin on the job search but changing social behavior and the way people look for jobs, this is the new job fair”. As a result of their successes, Gil and Duterte have their eyes set on hosting 40 events nationally throughout the United States in 2010.
