Buy Local Billboard Ribbon Cutting tomorrow! As you may have seen from our recent emails, the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the launch of a Buy Local program designed to support our community businesses and keep local tax dollars here at home. The Buy Local campaign will launch the end of July in conjunction with the Back to School Tax Free Holiday and will continue through the Christmas shopping season. The Chamber will be holding a ribbon cutting for the Buy Local Shop Chamber Member Billboard tomorrow (July 28th) at 11:30 a.m. across from the Olive Garden on Douglas Blvd.
In these challenging economic times, it is more essential now than ever that we all pull together as a community and support each other. Buy Local is a campaign designed to do exactly that and we are asking for your support by wearing red and joining us tomorrow! We are banding together as a community to encourage people to shop locally. As a local resident, consider where you spend your dollars each day, whether they be for gas, groceries or goods and services. When you buy local, you simultaneously create jobs, fund more community services through sales tax, invest in neighborhood improvement and promote community development. There are many ways you can get involved in this campaign. The Chamber is giving away FREE window clings & you can pick one up at any networking event or at the ribbon cutting.
After the ribbon cutting, please consider joining us for a taping of CITI TV's City Connector Show where Kali Boatright, our Chamber President, will be interviewed by hosts Monk & Kelly (from the J 93.3 morning show) about the Buy Local effort!
Come out and support this community wide effort if you are available. Learn more about Buy Local here: www.douglascountychamber.com
