Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include the evaluation and performance of audit tests of business control system reviews as follow:
• Analyze business risks, identify mitigating controls, plan and perform on site testing, and determine effectiveness of control systems.
• Formulate independent and objective evaluations of operational, financial and legal compliance controls and report issues to senior management; follow-up is also performed to assure action is taken to resolve gaps in the Company’s system of internal controls.
• Provide clear, concise and accurate documentation supporting results.
• Maintain a constructive relationship with all clients and the project supervisor to facilitate development of an effective Company wide integrated business control system.
• Conduct risk assessments for upcoming audits included in Auditing Services annual plan.
• Keep current with requirements for VZW under Sarbanes-Oxley and ensure compliance are also part of the job description.
• Actively participate in the completion of department initiatives to support the development of a best-in-class Internal Audit function.
Candidate Qualifications:
• Requires a BA/BS in accounting, finance, computer science or related technical field
• Accounting/auditing certification recommended but not required (CPA, CIA)
• Three to five years public accounting or equivalent audit experience
• Network Finance Operations experience is a plus
• Business analysis experience, and/or an MBA
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Highly proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Access
• Approximately 25% to 30% travel required
