POSITION TITLE : Facility Maintenance Supervisor

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MOST IMPORTANT TO GET THE JOB DONE)
Maintain adequate inventory of supplies to insure that the proper materials are available for building needs
Obtain assistance from outside resources to repair or maintain equipment
Oversee all capital expenditure projects related to building enhancements and process improvement
Assures staffing levels are adequate for maintenance demands; adhering to company policies, safety standards, work rules and good housekeeping
Responsible for communications with local power supplier and coordination of on site activity
Manage all aspects of the Carter’s Safety Program to include inspections, corrective actions, training and contractor compliance
Maintain security monitoring systems and controlled facility access for multi-shift operation
Conduct classroom instruction for all operators obtaining Forklift Certification
SUPERVISORY / BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITY
Oversee all building equipment operations and functions for 500,000 sq ft facility with $12M material handling equipment
Oversee maintenance technicians, custodians and helpers; conduct performance evaluations; approve payroll recordkeeping
Obtains all quotes for capital expenditures related to building and equipment
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS (IF APPLICABLE - ANY DUTIES NOT CONSIDERED ESSENTIAL)
Assists in other areas as required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS (MINIMUM COMPENTENCIES REQUIRED FOR JOB PERFORMANCE)
Working knowledge of technical processes and procedures in a maintenance environment, along with working knowledge of construction processes
Must have working knowledge of all types of power sources – electrical – gas – water
Must have good oral and written communication skills
Possess good organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to supervise employees in a multi-area environment
Applied math and PC skills required
Knowledge of OSHA standards as they apply to General Industry
PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Three (3) to five (5) years of maintenance experience
Three (3) years supervisory experience, preferably in a distribution or manufacturing environment
College degree preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Lifting and carrying up to 45 pounds when required
Generally standing for long periods of time, with substantial walking required, to include elevated heights
Occasionally seated for long periods working at a desk/computer.
