POSITION TITLE : Facility Maintenance Supervisor

POSITION REPORTS TO (TITLE): General Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MOST IMPORTANT TO GET THE JOB DONE)
 Maintain adequate inventory of supplies to insure that the proper materials are available for building needs
 Obtain assistance from outside resources to repair or maintain equipment
 Oversee all capital expenditure projects related to building enhancements and process improvement
 Assures staffing levels are adequate for maintenance demands; adhering to company policies, safety standards, work rules and good housekeeping
 Responsible for communications with local power supplier and coordination of on site activity
 Manage all aspects of the Carter’s Safety Program to include inspections, corrective actions, training and contractor compliance
 Maintain security monitoring systems and controlled facility access for multi-shift operation
 Conduct classroom instruction for all operators obtaining Forklift Certification
SUPERVISORY / BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITY
 Oversee all building equipment operations and functions for 500,000 sq ft facility with $12M material handling equipment
 Oversee maintenance technicians, custodians and helpers; conduct performance evaluations; approve payroll recordkeeping
 Obtains all quotes for capital expenditures related to building and equipment
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS (IF APPLICABLE - ANY DUTIES NOT CONSIDERED ESSENTIAL)

 Assists in other areas as required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS (MINIMUM COMPENTENCIES REQUIRED FOR JOB PERFORMANCE)
 Working knowledge of technical processes and procedures in a maintenance environment, along with working knowledge of construction processes
 Must have working knowledge of all types of power sources – electrical – gas – water
 Must have good oral and written communication skills
 Possess good organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to supervise employees in a multi-area environment
 Applied math and PC skills required
 Knowledge of OSHA standards as they apply to General Industry
PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
 Three (3) to five (5) years of maintenance experience
 Three (3) years supervisory experience, preferably in a distribution or manufacturing environment
 College degree preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
 Lifting and carrying up to 45 pounds when required
 Generally standing for long periods of time, with substantial walking required, to include elevated heights
 Occasionally seated for long periods working at a desk/computer.
