Douglas County Parks Dept. needs a secretary, security officer, & more

GEN members, don't forget to check the Douglas County website from time to time. Although the county officially has a hiring freeze until further notice, I called and spoke to their personnel department today, and they ARE hiring when someone retires or leaves for another reason.

Right now, they have 5 vacancies to fill, for a jailer, security officer, paramedic, lifeguard at the aquatic center, and secretary.

You can find details at this web address, and we'll post one job description, for the secretary, below:

DOUGLAS COUNTY PARKS AND RECREATION -
SECRETARY

"The position involves routine secretarial and clerical work in a county parks maintenance department. Duties include: directing telephone calls, assisting the general public, and providing secretarial support for the work unit.

Requires: H.S. Diploma/GED. $22,567.16 plus benefits. Employment based on passing mandatory physical/drug screen/MVR and background investigation.

Applications accepted June 5, 2009 through June 19, 2009, Douglas County Personnel Dept., 8700 Hospital Drive, Douglasville, GA 30134."

Please do NOT call. The personnel dept. only accepts resumes and applications in person, so you'll have to visit their office on the first floor of the courthouse. Even if you're not selected, they keep your resume on file for a full year, so they can re-consider you if something else becomes available.

Blessings.
