Did you know that if you're unemployed, you can get paid to take the Georgia Work Ready test?
This info comes from today's Douglas County Sentinel:
Be Work Ready is a program of the Governor's Office of Workforce Development. The idea is to give Georgians an incentive to earn a Work Ready Certificate. You'll just need to take a test that shows you have the necessary basics for more customized job training.
The test is offered at various West Central campuses, including the Douglas County campus the 3rd Friday of every month. You must preregister by contacting Gail Reeves, administrative secretary, at 770-836-6690 or gail.reeves@westgatech.edu.
According to a May 29 press release from the Governor's Office, when you earn a bronze, silver, or gold level certificate, you're eligible for a $50 gift card. Earn a platinum certificate, and you're eligible for a $100 certificate.
Eligible test takers can apply for Be Work Ready funds at www.begaworkready.com
Greystone Power and DeNyse Signs are two of the companies that consider Work Ready test scores when filling jobs.
