Required Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
Analyze, modify, and maintain existing systems/programs. Determine and resolve system and program problems; coordinate communication with vendors when appropriate for problem resolution.
Analyze user requirements for new systems/programs; determine definitions and design specifications. Provide estimates of technical effort for projects when needed.
Develop, test, and implement custom systems/programs. Monitor project scheduling and project tracking control systems. Prepare and conduct Application Test Plans. Provide technical support to users, including assisting functional users with adequate testing of applications prior to moving into production mode.
Assist in development of standards and guidelines and ensure compliance of all standards and guidelines.
Write technical/operational/user documentation.
SELECTION PROCESS WILL INCLUDE A PRE-EMPLOYMENT BACKGROUND SCREENING.
Duties:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Strongly prefer Master's Degree.
Experience:Four years of job-related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
The following specialized skills are required for this position:
Technical Requirements:
Requires high proficiency in several programming languages such as PHP, Java, HTML, XML, C++, etc. and adaptable and trainable in new languages as needed
Requires high proficiency with database connectivity using MySQL, Oracle, all Microsoft office 2007 applications, including the ability to write Visual Basic for Applicantions scripts, macros, and SQL Server
Must be familiar with common web and other system development tools. Prefer experience with the Model/View/Controller (MVC) programming methodology and related toolsets such as Zend
Must demonstrate the ability to stay current and competent with new technologies through formal training and self-directed learning
Must be knowledgeable in graphic design process and have the ability to work effectively with graphic designers
Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including tools such as Visio and Project
Prefer university or public sector experience
