"With God in you, you have a million resources that you did not have before!"
GEN members, I found those words on Max Lucado's Twitter site today. If you don't know Max Lucado, he's a Texas-based pastor and author whose messages focus on God's love and provision. (And if you're not familiar with Twitter, it's a "social networking" site, sort of like Facebook.)
I watched the news last night and thought about how grim everything is right now. The housing market is down, many people still need jobs, and oil is flooding into the ocean. It's easy to feel discouraged and even hopeless. What can any of us do, when so much is wrong?
Then I saw Max's words this morning and realized that it isn't about what we can do. It's about what God can do. Always has been, always will be.
Our God is an awesome God, and no matter how dark things may seem, He's still in control. He has a plan for every single life, and He will never, ever leave us. Because we have a Savior in Jesus, we can live with hope!
We want you to know that no matter where you are right now, we're praying for you this weekend, asking God to fill your heart with peace during this time of career change. Be blessed, friends.
Your GEN team
A job networking and support resource
What is GEN?
GEN is God's Employment Network. Our free group meetings offer faith-based support and job search coaching for those in career transition. All are welcome!
GEN IS MOVING! Job leads will no longer be posted here. Instead, look for our Facebook page, God's Employment Network. Join us there to find job leads, networking opportunities, and news of our meetings. We're free and open to everyone!
Our fall kick-off meeting is Monday, Sept. 19, at 6:15 pm. We'll meet at the Douglas County Library on Selman Drive, behind Douglas County High School. Bring your resume and business cards if you have them. And bring a friend!
