Project Manager
Job Summary: The successful candidate serves as project manager for capital modifications to Delta's fleet of aircraft. The candidate will lead and direct cross-functional teams to deliver projects within the constraints of schedule, budget and scope. Magnitude of projects varies in size and scope including interiors, structural and avionics based projects and retrofits. Tasks include technical reviews of concept plans, business case development, project plan development, change management, risk management, communication planning and tracking /monitoring of project budget and schedule. This position reports to the General Manager - Fleet Projects. This position must be cross-functional to ensure that critical decisions are made for successful completion of strategic projects vital to Delta's success.
Job Qualifications: Bachelor degree in technical related field including but not limited to Engineering, Mathematics, or other disciplineOR A&P Mechanics license with proven track record of 'out of the box' thinking and an ability to think large scale. Certified Project Manager via Project Management Institute (required to be earned for promotion consideration to Senior Proj Mgr). Black Belt and six sigma training/certification recommended. PMI principles or standard project management methodology. Strong analytical skills, Must have good facilitation skills. Must have strong relationship management skills and ability to work in a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills with recent working experience in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Project. Must be performing satisfactorily in present position.
