Opportunity
Warehouse Associates - various shifts available - Stand-up Fork Lift Operators with Case Pick Experience and Case Pick positions Available
Warehouse Associates are responsible for loading, unloading, sorting, staging and transporting of products into and out of a distribution center/warehouse. Individuals in this position must work cooperatively with other Associates and productively with little supervision. Following company safety policies and procedures is of great importance to this position. Upon completion of training and certification a Warehouse Associate may drive gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, clamp and slip sheet attachments, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials/pallets by performing the following duties. Some associates will operate stand-up fork lift 50% of the time and will also perform case pick order pulling 50% of the time.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
• Follows company safety policies and procedures and encourages other Associates to do the same.
• Safely operates forklift and/or other machinery in order to complete tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, staging and transporting products.
• Works cooperatively and productively with Supervisors and other Associates in order to complete tasks.
• Arranges cartons on pallets keeping in mind size, weight, height, etc.
• Loads trucks keeping in mind cubic weight, size and characteristics (i.e., easily crushable,) in mind.
• Works productively (i.e., receiving products, picking products, etc.) with little supervision.
• Provides and inspires outstanding service to customers (i.e., stores, etc.) by maintaining attention to detail and completing assigned work in a timely manner. Maintains condition of Distribution Center and/or warehouse work area (I.e., free of trash, product in correct location, etc).
• Additional duties as assigned by Distribution Center or Warehouse Management.
Work Environment and Physical Job Requirements
The warehouse environment can be dusty and noisy. Doors near the working areas are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes. Interior floors near entrances and exits may become slippery during wet weather conditions. Passing forklifts emit gas fumes. Upon certification to operate a forklift or other type of lift equipment, a warehouse associate may have to operate a piece of equipment using electric voltage. Position requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include the ability to hear horns and beeps of moving industrial equipment in a frequently noisy environment.
Required Skills and Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Must be eighteen years of age or older Must pass the Drug, Background Check, & Skills Test. Forklift Operators must have at least 1 year warehouse experience and for lift position require 1 year experience on a stand-up forklift.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
Computer/WMS experience preferred RF experience preferred
