Job Summary

The purpose and function of the Quality Engineer's job is to provide quality support to the organization to meet system requirements and exceed customer's expectations using knowledge of ISO-9000 / TL-9000 and Customer specifications. The Quality Engineer is responsible for analyzing nonconforming product, providing manufacturing support when needed, and making continuous improvements to manufacturing processes using Lean and quality tools.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
• Evaluation and disposition of nonconforming product including scrap
• Resolving manufacturing problems by working with OCS manufacturing, Cable manufacturing and outside suppliers.
• Support Production with various Supervisory and administrative functions when needed.
• Lead and maintain the LMS (Lean Management System).
• Assist in maintaining TL-9000 Quality Management System.
• Lead Continuous Improvements in production using Kaizens and Lean concepts.
• Support manufacturing processes using process control methods and GR-326 when necessary.
• Maintain UL listing on registered products.
• Assist Operations Manager in facilitating introduction of new products using New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
• Supervise Inspectors.
• Work with suppliers and contract manufacturer’s to resolve problems and concerns.

Job Qualifications

 Bachelor degree in Engineering or Science field. Masters degree preferred
 Five or more years experience in Quality as an Engineer required
 ASQ Certified Quality Engineer required
 Supervisory Experience Required
 Knowledge of Fiber Optic Industry desirable.
 Excellent written, verbal, communication skills.
 Good organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and goal oriented.
 Computer skills: Microsoft Office applications.
